Procedure and Pricing
My goal is to create an heirloom quality portrait that you will enjoy now, as well as be proud to pass to future generations. This takes communication so that I may come to know the subject, either through you or from my own studies. In order to capture the personality, ideally, I find it advantageous to meet the subject and conduct a photo session, or in the case of posthumous studies, talk to the family members that knew him or her well and view your collection of photographs. Knowing there are circumstances that prevent a personal meeting, some exceptions are made, so please feel free to discuss these situations.
After our initial agreement of the subject, setting, clothing, and size I will be able to offer an estimate of the delivery time. Portrait fees start at $500. The price is based on the following factors: the number of people or pets in the painting; how much of each subject is to be depicted; the size of the actual painting itself; the intricacy of clothing, jewelry and props, and the complexity of the background setting.
Artist travel expenses, framing costs, shipping fees and any state or city sales tax, where applicable are additional.
